On pesticides stored in fat tissue: This section is a reasonable description of how organochlorides such as DDT can be accumulated in fat; however, DDT has been banned in the US since 1972 and other organochlorides have been replaced by more modern alternatives. Modern pesticides break down much more quickly and many are not fat-soluble. Since pesticides are very different in composition and properties, we have to look at each one to see what we can say about it. If you are concerned about a particular pesticide, the EPA is a good place to learn more.
